Kassover leads LFP candidates in fundraising

By Evan Smith

Lake Forest Park city council candidate Phillippa Kassover leads LFP candidates in fundraising.

Kassover has reported raising $1,140 with no spending. Her opponent, David Hammond, has reported no fundraising. The two will run in the Nov. 3 general election for the council position that incumbent Councilman Jeff Johnson is giving up to run for mayor. Kassover's fundraising includes $140 in cash contributions and a $1,000 loan.

Johnson has reported no fundraising or spending in as a candidate for mayor. He will run unopposed in November. Incumbent Mayor Mary Jane Goss, who withdrew during the May 11-15 filing week, had reported raising and spending $2,945 before she withdrew.

LFP City Council incumbents Tom French and Catherine Stanford both are running unopposed for re-election. Neither has reported any fundraising or spending.

None of the Lake Forest Park positions will appear on the Aug. 4 primary ballot because none has more than two candidates.
