A spectacular tree and shrubbery fire lit up the night sky at the Aldercrest Annex property on NE 200th St near 25th NE Tuesday evening.

The school buildings on the property were torn down several years ago and the fire was confined to trees.

The very prompt arrival of the Shoreline Fire department kept the fire from spreading.
The scene was very, very different Tuesday night, when neighbor Sean Osborn shot this video:

Osborn reports:
Tonight, shortly after 11pm, a wildfire broke out at the Aldercrest Annex at the 2800 block of NE 200th St in Shoreline - the former site of the old Kellogg Middle School. Trees were engulfed in seconds, but fortunately are surrounded by asphalt.
50 feet away, trees butt up next to houses. If the Shoreline fire department had not arrived in such a timely manner, the blaze might have quickly and easily reached the trees next to houses.
The cause of the fire has not yet been reported.
