Concerts in the Park continue with five more shows

Mark up your calendars, put these in your phone, write them on your arm, but just don't miss these concerts!

All concerts are free and start at 6:30pm on Wednesdays (unless noted) rain or shine. If it rains, we’ll simply dance in the rain! Bring a chair or blanket and come out and enjoy some music and festivities with your neighbors! July 29 - Jessica Lynn - Country/Bluegrass
Pfingst Animal Acres Park, 17411 Brookside Blvd NE, Lake Forest Park

Within a year of her arrival, Lynne has planted herself center stage in Seattle’s music scene. With the media comparing her to such luminaries as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and even Dusty Springfield. Having opened for national acts such as Radney Foster, Elisabeth Cook and Katie Armiger – Lynne has shows her musical career is on the fast track. Between her sunny lyrics, strawberry blond curls, and honeyed voice, Lynne’s output already evidences an implicit and consistent color scheme.

Groupo Amoroso
Aug 5 – Groupo Amoroso – Brazilian Pop and Bossa Nova
Richmond Beach Library Park, 2201 NW 197th St, Shoreline

Grupo Amoroso will have you dancing with their classic bossa nova, Brazilian pop and jazz. Their focus is on great songs with vocals backed with piano, guitar, bass and drum arrangements. Grupo band members have played together for many years—over 20 years for 3 members. All are experienced musicians with a variety of musical experiences, including samba drumming, musical stage performances, and recording.

Aug 11 (Tuesday) – Shoreline Jazz Camp Students and Faculty @ the North City Jazz Walk
St. Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15th Pl NE, Shoreline

Always one of the highlights of the North City Jazz Walk, students and faculty of the Shoreline Jazz Camp will share their culminating performance with the community. Jazz camp students will play in a new location this year, St. Mark Catholic Church. As always, the Shoreline Jazz Camp performance is free and open to the public.

Portage Bay Big Band swings at Cromwell Park

Aug 19 – Portage Bay Big Band – Big Band Jazz and Swing
Cromwell Park, 18030 Meridian Ave N, Shoreline

The Portage Bay Big Band will have you dancing in no time. Traditional Big Band Swing, Portage Bay Big Band plays all the old favorites, for dancing and easy listening. Male and Female vocalists, unique musical features and special requests. They spice things up with tango, salsa, and an occasional rock number.

Michael Stegner

Aug 26 – Michael Stegner and Friends – Piano Time Grand Finale
Shoreline City Hall Courtyard, 17500 Midvale Ave N, Shoreline

Michael Stegner’s critically acclaimed debut songwriting album, Fascination Nation, has drawn comparisons to early Tom Waits, Willie Nelson, Randy Newman, David Byrne, Nick Cave, and Leon Russell. This native Kentuckian’s unique storytelling pulls no punches and takes the listener on a beautiful journey through the emotional spectrum.

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate creativity and inspire our community through the arts.
