Race Unity Day community picnic June 14 in Paramount Park
Thursday, June 4, 2015
Join your neighbors at a community picnic in observance of Race Unity Day, an event first observed in 1957 to promote the elimination of prejudice.
Paramount Park picnic shelter, noon to 4:00pm, Sunday June 14, 2015. Paramount Park is located in Shoreline on NE 155th Street and 8th Avenue NE.
All are welcome, young and not-so-young! Burgers, dogs, buns, and condiments to be provided. Bring a dish to share (enough for your family and a little more). Or just stop by.
Eat good food, enjoy the weather, visit one of Shoreline’s great parks, make new friends, have a conversation. A short program will be presented at some point during the afternoon.
As Kofi Annan, 7th UN Secretary-General said, "We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human race." Come celebrate this essential truth!
Sponsored by the Bahá'ís of Shoreline.
Corrected: a previously published article named the wrong park for the event.
