Four recipients were each awarded a $1000 Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park scholarship on May 27.
This year, the criteria for choosing them was based on their academic achievements, including Honors courses, Advance Placement courses, and UW courses, with individual, personal development in other areas such as athletics, extra training through Scouts and leadership in the community, art and music.
They wrote essays on their educational goals and commitment to volunteering. An important essay was on “What Service Above Self Means to Me”, Rotary Club's motto. Each of the students honored fulfilled these criteria well.
