Members of the public are invited to join a visiting delegation of Peruvian naval officers and cadets on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10:30am at Pfingst Animal Acres Park, for a commemoration ceremony for recently completed improvements to the memorial bust of Miguel Grau, a Peruvian national hero.
The program consists of music by the U.S. Navy Band Northwest; brief comments by Lake Forest Park Mayor Mary Jane Goss; presentation of flowers; and performance of the popular Peruvian Navy song, the “Marinera.”
The event is open to the public and is a great opportunity to see the culmination of the work between the City of Lake Forest Park, Lake Forest Park Rotary, and the Consulate General of Peru. In addition to Peruvian officials, representatives from Lake Forest Park City Hall, other municipalities, the Consular Corps, and the Lieutenant Governor are expected to attend.
