End Summer Hunger: Dale Turner Y will feed local children this summer

Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does a child’s need for good nutrition. The Dale Turner Family YMCA is proud to announce the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSP), which provides free, nutritious meals and snacks to help children get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow throughout the summer months when they are out of school. 

Hunger is one of the most severe roadblocks to the learning process. Lack of nutrition during the summer months may set up a cycle for poor performance once school begins again. Hunger also may make children more prone to illness and other health issues. The SFSP is designed to make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need.

Meals will be made available at no charge to attending children 18 years of age and younger at the following sites:
