Third Place Commons Receives Beloved Community Award

Ros Bird, the chair of Third Place Commons accepted an award from the Beloved Community. Anne Stadler, a founder of the organization that maps places that are important in the lives of people in their own communities.


The Beloved Community honors places in neighborhoods that people depend upon. Places that people feel welcome, safe and accepted. 

Anne Stadler said she thought Third Place captured the idea behind the Beloved Community.

"It's a free and open civic space. Whoever comes is welcome and treated with respect. It’s also a place where people can share their unique gifts. A real community."
