Senior Center would like you to GiveBIG

The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a healthier and more vital place to live. The people behind these organizations, those who work tirelessly to improve the lives of everyone in Greater Seattle, are champions. GiveBIG is a day to support their championship-worthy work.”

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center is a nonprofit organization serving the needs of the seniors in Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, North Seattle and South Snohomish County. This is the first year that the senior center will be participating in this effort. Fundraising is an on-going need for the center and the GiveBig giving event is just one more way to help bring in more funding. The Seattle Foundation has offered a matching donation for a portion of the contributions to the Shoreline-LFP Senior Center.

How can you help? Go to the senior center website on May 5th and look for the GiveBig button. We are participating in partnership with Senior Services and you can designate your gift to the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center. Be sure to include Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center in the comments field when you make your online donation.

If you don’t have access to a computer but would like to give, there will be a volunteer at the senior center who can help you on Tuesday, May 5, 12:30-2:30pm.

Come enjoy lunch, then GiveBig! This also happens to be Cinco de Mayo celebration day, so there will be a special meal and entertainment! Menu: pork chili verde, Spanish rice, roasted vegetables, agua fresco, warm tortilla and, yum…flan!

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center is located at 18560 1st AVE NE, #1, the southern-most building of the Shoreline Center; 206-365-1536.
