T-Bird girls' tennis team continues unbeaten

The Shorewood T-Birds girls' tennis team continued to stay unbeaten in WesCo South league play with a 5-2 win over Lynnwood High School at Lynnwood on Friday, April 17.

The Thunderbirds are in first place with a 6-0 record and 9-1 overall. Number four singles, sophomore Marin Counter, came from behind after losing her first set 2-6 to win 6-3, 6-1 and seal the victory.

Senior co- captains Jenny Ahn and Genevieve O’ Malley won their number one doubles match 6-0, 6-1.

Amy Buswell stayed unbeaten in singles by winning her tenth straight match at number three singles. 

The WesCo South defending league champs meet Edmonds - Woodway in Edmonds on April 27 starting at 3:30pm.

Doubles—Jenny Ahn-Genevieve O’Malley (S) def. Sea Choi-Holly Davis 6-0, 6-1; Grace Taylor-Wiktoria Kostrya (S) def. Olivia Nguyen-Stephanie Poch 6-4, 2-6, 6-2; Reilly Walsh-Taylor Fahey (L) def. Sophie Sando-Merideth Rand 6-3, 6-1.

Records—Shorewood 6-0 league, 9-1 overall. Lynnwood 2-5, 3-6.
