The Lynnwood Link will run the length of Shoreline |
On April 1, Sound Transit officially released the Final Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIS) for the Lynnwood Link Light Rail Extension.
The Final EIS examines project route and station alternatives, including the preferred alternative identified by the Sound Transit Board. It also provides information about project alternatives, potential impacts on the natural and built environment, possible mitigation measures, and responds to public comments received during the Draft EIS comment period, which ended on September 23, 2013.
Included in the Final EIS is analysis of the two stations proposed for Shoreline at NE 145th and NE 185th Streets, and the route that light rail will take through the City. City staff are currently analyzing the Final EIS to see if the City's concerns from the Draft EIS have been adequately addressed.
Council will be discussing the results of the Final EIS and staff analysis at their Monday, April 13 meeting.
The Sound Transit Board is scheduled to make final decisions on the route and station sites on April 23, 2015. The Board will consider the Final EIS and public and agency comments in selecting the project to be built.
Sound Transit must receive any appeals of the Final EIS on or before 5:00pm on April 15, 2015.
See the Sound Transit website to review the Final EIS and to get more information. And thanks to a reader, here is the direct link.
