Caitlin Brookins - Nostos, Eternity
Silver Gelatin Print

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Caitlin creates works of art through photography, printmaking, painting, and drawing. The photographs in the show evoke the Old Hollywood feel, a dark romantic spin with a turn of the century nudge. They relate to the history of portraiture and the context it brings, through the classic and iconic oval formatting of portraits and figure studies. Caitlin is a recent BFA recipient from Cornish College of the Arts. She is now exhibiting in many local spaces and beyond.

David L Friend
The Improbable Conceptions of Mother Goose on a Plate
Acrylic

David is a self taught artist, who discovered the world of oil painting at age 11 and has never lost his love for painting. He sees art as an invitation to investigate what’s all around him and translate the interesting or important parts into a visual medium using shapes, lines and colors. David has showed his work widely around the Puget Sound, like at the Ryan James Fine Arts Gallery, and Fogdog Gallery. He is in numerous private collections, and has been featured in Split Lip Magazine.

Laura Craft - Phases
digital print

Laura is an architect and artist. She started devoting considerable energy to digital printmaking in 2013. Her work explores the ambiguous relationship between positive and negative space, foreground and background, which can create movement (rotation, flipping) as the viewer’s eye seeks to resolve the composition. Her volumetric and spatial pieces start with a blank “canvas.” In other works, found forms, such as calligraphic characters, are stripped of their original meaning and used as armatures for color, textural, and spatial play. She has shown regularly in the Northwest, including the Mercer Island Gallery and ParklaneGallery.

Dara Solliday - Regrade 14
Encaustic Mixed Media on Panel

Dara’s work combines architectural images of land pattern, structure, and urban development into multi-layered views of home and landscape. She reconstructs historic images of land projects in paint and wax, incorporating found objects, text and schematic visuals into heavily worked surfaces, referencing a construction site. Dara has exhibited throughout the US, including the Museum of Northwest Art; the Hockaday Museum of Art in Montana; Gray Gallery and Emerge Gallery in North Carolina, Pun(c)tuation Gallery, Room 104 Gallery, Linda Hodges Gallery, CoCA, and Kate Alkarni Gallery.

Sonya Stockton - The Provider
Concrete, polyurethane, and shoes

Sonya uses found object sculpture to reveal the underlying strangeness of our connection to the material world. She explores the absurd but profound nature of the unfolding story we write with our objects. Sonya received a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts, and is the Chair of the Board for the artist-run Gallery 110. Having exhibited widely in Seattle such as the Vera Project, Crawl Space, CoCA, and Faire Gallery, she has also shown work at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago and the Tastes Like Chicken art space in New York.
