Lake Forest Park

Lake Forest Park Mayor Mary Jane Goss has declared her intention to run for re-election.

Goss recently registered with the state Public Disclosure Commission as a candidate for a second four-year term as mayor.

Registration with the PDC allows a candidate to raise and spend money for the coming election.

Candidates file in early May for positions on 2015 ballots.

Positions with three or more candidates appear on the August primary ballot; the top two vote-getters in the primary qualify for the November general-election ballot.

Positions with only one or two candidates appear only on the November ballot.

Goss has yet to report any fundraising or spending.

When Goss won her first term four years ago she raised $23,707 and spent $23,120, with a $5,000 independent expenditure supporting her.

She is the only LFP candidate to have registered an intention to run in 2015.

The positions held by City Council members Tom French, Jeff Johnson and Catherine Stanford also will appear on 2015 LFP ballots.
