From the 145th Street Citizens Committee
In the next 10 days we have the opportunity to participate in three key meetings involving light rail and the resulting development.
- Thursday, January 15, City Council Chambers, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM – Planning Commission PUBLIC HEARING on Development Regulations and Zoning for 185th Subarea (this is technically for 185th street station but many of the development regulations decisions made for them will carry over to/influence 145th). Staff Report (this will tell you what is going to be discussed). Even if you can’t attend the meeting this is worth a quick read.
- Wednesday, January 21, Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church at 14724 1st Ave, NE., 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Community Forum (hosted by the Shoreline Preservation Society). Several speakers will provide their viewpoints on utilities, land use and other aspects of the changes and challenges we face with light rail. This is not sponsored by the City, and therefore might have a bit different perspective than other recent meetings.
- Thursday, January 22, Bethel Lutheran Church, 17418 8th Avenue NE 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM – 145th Citizens Committee Special Open House Draft DEIS. This meeting will be run by the City of Shoreline to introduce residents to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the 145th station area, so that they can more effectively provide feedback to the City.
More meetings to come in February…
