Video: forum on gun initiative
Monday, October 20, 2014
Our friends at My Edmonds News videotaped the forum on gun initiatives 594 / 591.
Speaking for I-594 - State Senator Maralyn Chase.
Speaking against I-594 - Jason Colberg
David Donnan was the moderator.
The forum, held Sunday, October 19, 2014, was sponsored by the Peace and Justice Committee of the Richmond Beach Congregational Church.
Initiative 594 would expand background checks on gun purchasers in the state. Initiative 591 would prohibit the state from adopting background checks or other restrictions on firearms stricter than federal laws.

Sponsored by the Peace and Justice Committee of the RBCC, you say? Why did you not say so in your announcement of the event, even when reminded to do so? And why are you not revealing here that the SAN is a tacit co-sponsor of Senator Maralyn Chase's senatorial campaign, that this event was nothing more than a campaign stop for Chase?
"My Edmonds News and Shoreline Area News co-sponsored the videotaping of an initiative forum held Oct. 19, 2014 at Richmond Beach Congregational Church. State Sen. Maralyn Chase spoke in favor of Initiative 594, which would expand background checks on gun purchasers in the state, while Jason Colberg spoke against the measure, which will appear on the Nov. 4, 2014 ballot."

Is this why the Richmond Beach Community Association cancelled its general election candidates forum this year?
Why wasn't Senate challenger Bob Reedy invited to square off with Sen. Chase on gun freedom/control? Was this HER idea? Why didn't she request it, in the interest of fairness. Jason Colberg is a fine spokesman, but he isn't running for office this year.
