Scots Romp Over Royals, 5-1

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Powered by Alexa Iacolucci's hat trick, the Shorecrest Scots maintained their perfect WesCo record Tuesday night with a convincing 5-1 win over the Lynnwood Royals.

The Scots scored early and often in the first half, building a 3-0 lead. Iacalucci scored the first of her three goals four minutes into the game with a long shot that found the top left corner. Ten minutes later MacKenzie Perry slipped a deflection past the Royals' goalkeeper, and Sophia Viviano headed in a corner-kick from Rachael Moulton.

Royals freshman Cassidy O'Dell scored early in the second half, taking advantage of a napping SC defense, to make it 3-1 Scots.

Iacalucci closed out the scoring with two long blasts, both from better than 40 yards out.

Ranked #10 in the state  this week in 2A by the Seattle Times, the Scots have five regular season games remaining before Districts start on Saturday Nov. 1.  Shorecrest will be hosting the tournament at Shoreline Stadium.
