OVERCOMING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

This event is designed to assist job seekers with disabilities navigate the road to employment. Parents and advocates of persons with disabilities are also encouraged to attend.

KeyNote Speaker: Washington State House of Representative Cyrus Habib, 48th Legislative District. Representative Habib is blind and has dedicated his career to serving and advocating for the needs of diverse communities. An advocate for the disabled, he has testified before Congress on the need to redesign paper currency to enable the visually impaired to distinguish amoung different denominations. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Committee on Technology and Economic Development.

Workshops include: How DVR Can Help You Find A Job; Job Search on the Internet; Secrets to a Successful Interview; Supported Employment; Job Accommodations & Asistive Technology.
