Shorecrest girls place in State 3A girls' javelin

Shorecrest junior Katherine Taylor placed third in the girls' javelin throw at the State 3A track and field meet May 29 in Tacoma. Senior teammate Aiko Mizumori-Canfield placed fifth.

Taylor's throw of 127 feet 6 inches placed her behind the 133-2 of the winner from Kelso and the 131-10 of a thrower from Kamiakin High School in Kennewick. Mizumori-Canfield had a throw of 120-1.
