Wesco South / Shorewood Tournament

Three Shorewood tennis players qualified for the District 1 tournament next week, with two others as alternates.

Daniella Brengelmann placed second in singles losing to her Mountlake Terrace opponent. She qualified for next week's District 1 tournament at Stanwood high school with matches starting at 1pm Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20th and 21st.

Also qualifying were Marija Feller placing fourth in singles and Emily Wright and Jelena Bojic placing fourth. Yuanne Corbett and Ellie Allen-Hatch placed 5th and are alternates to the District 1 doubles tournament.

Coach Arnie Moreno’s squad clinched the WesCo 3A South championship with a tough 4-3 victory over Mountlake Terrace, sweeping all three doubles matches. The Thunderbirds then blanked Meadowdale, 7-0, to improve to 12-0 in league play, 14-1 overall.
