Shorecrest Tennis team honors their own - services for Nora Var on Sunday

The Shorecrest varsity team in happier times

Nora Var was a valued member of the Shorecrest tennis team. Her recent death shocked her teammates and devastated her parents, whose only child she was.

Her teammates dedicated their Friday home game to her.

Shorecrest Tennis Celebrates Nora Var

"During this time of sorrow as we mourn over the loss of our fellow Shorecrest highlander Nora Var, we also need to take the time to celebrate her wonderful life. On behalf of the Shorecrest tennis team, we invite you to our home match this Friday as we play for our dearly loved teammate. 

The scheduled JV match was postponed, so the younger girls could attend.

Concerned that her family would have to deal with funeral expenses, Gina Sim organized a fundraising page to raise money for her parents. Within a few days, 62 families donated over $5,000.

Her parents have arranged funeral services for Sunday.

We are truly amazed and thankful by the generosity and kind messages from all of our supporters. Your donations give us so much more hope with moving forward and securing a date for Nora’s memorial service.
