Shorecrest, Shorewood meet in district soccer final Saturday after Tuesday semifinal victories

The Shorecrest and Shorewood boys’ soccer teams will meet in the Northwest District 3A tournament championship final Saturday, May 17, at Shoreline Stadium after both won semifinal games at the Stadium Tuesday.

Shorecrest has a 15-3 record after its 1-0 semifinal victory over Marysville-Pilchuck (9-9) that followed Shorecrest’s 3-0 first-round home victory over Oak Harbor Saturday, May 10.

Shorewood has an 11-3-4 record after its 2-1 semifinal victory over Glacier Peak (13-3-2) that followed the Thunderbirds’ first-round shootout victory at Stanwood May 10.

The Shorecrest-Shorewood District championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium will decide the Northwest District’s No. 1 and No. 2 berths in the State 3A playoffs.

Semifinal losers play in Thursday elimination games, with the winners of those matches meeting at the Stadium Saturday at 5pm for the district’s No. 3 state berth.
