The Kellogg Middle School Jazz Ensemble was awarded first place in its division at the 32nd annual Bellevue High School Jazz Festival on Friday, May 9. The festival hosted 22 middle school bands from Washington and Oregon in two divisions. 

Kellogg received superior ratings for its daytime performance, and were chosen as one of four finalists out of the 13 bands in their division to play in the evening concert. Following the evening performance, Kellogg had received the highest scores.

In addition, 8th grader Jake Bentley was awarded an outstanding soloist award for his trombone solo.
