Free showing of local filmmakers latest work on May 17

The Seattle filmmaking team of Yasu and Sandy Osawa will present an extended version (approximately 58 minutes) of their documentary "Usual and Accustomed Places," on Saturday, May 17, 2014, 3pm at the Shoreline Library. They previously showed their film "Princess Angeline" at the Shoreline Historical Museum.

The team has been working on documenting the experiences of Native American people who fought in the courtroom and on the rivers to protect a way of life that revolved around fishing. This new work in progress begins in the 1850's during treaty times and incorporates the first period of the 1900's.

A local grant from 4-Culture has enabled the extension of the story.
