Shorewood plays host to Mountlake Terrace tennis team Wednesday after 5-2 home victory over Glacier Peak Tuesday

Shorewood Girls' Tennis Team


The Shorewood girls’ tennis team played host to Mountlake Terrace Wednesday after a 5-2 home victory over Glacier Peak Tuesday.

Shorewood and Mountlake Terrace met at Shorewood’s home Shoreview Park courts Wednesday, with junior varsity teams from the two schools playing at the same time at Mountlake Terrace High School.

The Shorewood victory over Glacier Peak moved the Thunderbirds into first place in the Western Conference 3A South with a 1-0 Wesco 3A record (3-0 overall). Glacier Peak has a 2-1 Wesco 3A record (2-2 overall).

Ellie Allen- Hatch defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3 to help Shorewood take three of four singles matches. Jenny Ahn and Yuanne Corbett won at No. 2 doubles 6-1, 6-1. The T-Birds won two of three doubles matches.

Following the meeting with Mountlake Terrace Wednesday, the Thunderbirds travel to Meadowdale Thursday, with junior varsity teams from the two schools playing at Shoreview Park.
