One-fifth of the way to a new freezer
but contributions are still needed

The Shoreline - Lake Forest Park Senior Center has reached one-fifth of its goal to raise enough money for a new, commercial freezer to support their many food programs.

The old freezer died unexpectedly and there were no funds budgeted to replace it. A separate fundraising campaign has raised $1,000 toward the $5,000 needed.

The $1,000 represented many individual donors, who reached into their pockets for a good cause, and the Center is very grateful for their support.

Chef Janice leading a cooking class
The Center's food program, under the leadership of Chef Janice, prepares a full meal every weekday at the Center, which is open to anyone. $6 for those under 60, and $3 for those over 60.

The Center has embarked on a catering program, teaches cooking and nutrition classes, and takes participants to local farmers' markets.

A commercial freezer is an integral part of the operation.

Donate to the Freezer Fund by sending your check (marked 'Freezer Fund') to the Shoreline-LFP Senior Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Suite 1, Shoreline, WA 98155 - or drop off your check in person at the Center.

If you have questions, call 206-365-1536 and ask for Bob or Janice.
