Participate in a unique, one day birding adventure through the Seattle Metropolitan area and compete for the grand prize of a two night stay at the Heron Inn in La Connor with a birding trip from Pacific NW Float Trips.
The Puget Sound Bird Observatory (PSBO) is holding its annual Bird Quest on May 3, with a day of bird-oriented events. The event is geared to be fun, and to get people to look either for birds, or bird-themed art and businesses.
Strategy is more important than birding expertise. The winning hand of points could be made by driving around and finding most of the 75 bird-themed art objects and business, plus solving some of the 25 puzzles that are clustered in four Seattle Parks. For dedicated birders there are also expert-led bird walks in the morning, if anyone is interested in combining a one and a half hour bird-walk with the rest of the events. You can do as much or as little as you want.
Teams are encouraged, as one person can drive and the other can spot.
The Bird Quest funds PSBO projects, like the owl boxes put up in three Shoreline Parks.
