Shorecrest advances to district soccer final Saturday

The Shorecrest and Shorewood girls’ soccer teams both played Northwest District 3A tournament semifinal games Tuesday at Shoreline Stadium, with Shorecrest advancing to the Saturday final against the winner of a late Tuesday match between Shorewood and Meadowdale.
Western Conference 3A South regular-season champion Shorecrest takes a 15-2-1 overall record into the 7 p.m. Saturday district championship match at Shoreline Stadium after a 1-0 Tuesday victory over Wesco 3A North runner-up Marysville Getchell (10-5-3).
Wesco 3A South fourth-place Shorewood took a 10-5-2 record into a 7:30 p.m. Tuesday match with Wesco 3A South runner-up Meadowdale (12-2-3).
The championship game Saturday will decide the District’s No. 1 and 2 berths in the State tournament.
The semifinal losers play in Thursday matches against the winners of Tuesday elimination games, with the Thursday winners advancing to a Saturday 5 p.m. match for the District’s No. 3 State berth.
Shorecrest reached the semifinals with a 3-1 home victory over Wesco 3A North third place Stanwood at Shoreline Stadium Saturday, Nov. 2. Marysville Getchell earned the right to play the Scots by winning a 2-1 home match from South division No. 3 Mountlake Terrace.
Shorewood reached the semifinals with a 4-3 shootout victory over North division champion Marysville-Pilchuck at Marysville-Pilchuck. Meadowdale advanced with a 4-0 victory over Ferndale of the Northwest 3A/2A/1A Conference at Edmonds Stadium.
