Wadekamper endorses Scantlebury for Ronald Wastewater Commissioner

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Incumbent Ronald Wastewater District Commissioner Art Wadekamper has endorsed Ginny Scantlebury for the position that Wadekamper now holds.

Wadekamper finished third in the August primary with 29.03 percent of the votes behind Gretchen Atkinson with 35.60 percent and Scantlebury with 34.67 percent, creating a November runoff between Atkinson and Scattlebury.

Wadekamper issued this statement last week:

“After a closely watched primary for the Ronald Wastewater District Commissioner’s Position No. 2, Ginny Scantlebury won the chance to be in the general election. Ginny has been a supporter of many community groups in Shoreline. I would ask that all the ratepayers who voted for me in the primary now vote for Ginny in the general election.”

If you search the Shoreline Area News under the name "Ginny Scantlebury" you'll find that she represents the "Shoreline Caucus" [shorelinecaucus.com] which is clearly a tea party organization against the Affordable Health Care Act, President Obama and our government in general. Is this the person who should be representing Shoreline on any issue?

And if you search for the Shoreline Caucus, you will find that Bob Ransom, current Ronald Wastewater Commissioner, is a member of the Shoreline Caucus and regularly attends their meetings, so your point is?

This is a non-partisan position and Ginny Scantlebury has bipartisan endorsement. Why don't you focus on the issues and Ms. Scantlebury's qualities as an individual? I fail to see what the Affordable Health Care Act has to do with the operation of a local wastewater and sewer utility, other than your closed mind @7:30 pm seems to be a cesspool.

@7:30 Party before issue, is that it? Then why didn't you put up your own pro-District candidate? Or would you rather sell your soul to the City for a few state-owned trees in your neighborhood?

With 63.70% for Wadekamper and Scantlebury, and only 35.67% for Atkinson, it looks pretty hopeless for the "top vote-getter" doesn't it?

Wadekamper endorsed Scantlebury a month ago.

The person "Anonymous" who claimed that the Tea Party is "against the government in general" does not know what he or she is talking about. This person's argument is an ad hominem, and an ignorant comment as well.
