Sunday, October 13, 2013, join Shoreline resident Arthur Peach, New Beginnings, and the organizers of Steps Against Domestic Violence in a fundraiser walk at Green Lake Park, 7201 E Greenlake Dr N, 98115 (Map It).

"Honor all survivors and victims of domestic violence. Let's take this opportunity to celebrate all the first steps YOU have taken and continue to take to help end domestic violence!"

Sunday, October 13, 2013, program begins at 10:00 am, Green Lake Park. Meet near the south side of the Community Center/Gym.

New Beginnings' mission is to provide shelter, advocacy and support for battered women and their children; and to change attitudes and social institutions that foster and perpetuate violence.

Register Online for the event. There is no registration fee, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Murdered by her fiancé
Marisa Peach, a native of Shoreline, was murdered by her fiancĂ© on January 5, 2007 in Harrisburg, PA. Her murderer was convicted and sentenced to a maximum 20 – 40 year sentence for 3rd degree murder.

When Marisa Peach was murdered her family and friends mourned, then they banded together to do what they could to join the work to end domestic violence. Marisa's great friend Karen Martin, then formed Steps Against Domestic Violence to raise money for local domestic violence agencies in Pennsylvania.
