The Shoreline Community College Women’s soccer team won a much needed victory on Saturday at Skagit Valley College with a 3-2 win.
The SCC squad started strong, moving out to a 2-0 lead in the first 18 minutes of the match on goals by Hayley Warren (9 minutes) and Allison Shelton (18 minutes). Elle Blum and Warren had the assists on the goals. Skagit Valley answered back with one goal at the 25 minute mark and then then tied it early in the 2nd half (58 minute mark) at 2-2. Ashley Cole won it for SCC at the 73 minute mark on an assist from Allison Shelton.
Shoreline moves to 7-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SVC falls to 5-3-2 and 4-3-1 in the region. SCC and SVC are tied for 4th in the region at 13 points. Both teams trail Everett CC and Whatcom CC that are tied for 2nd place with 16 points. Edmonds CC leads the region with 17 points. The top three teams in the region make the NWAACC playoffs.
SCC travels to Everett CC on Wednesday to face the Trojans at 4:15pm.
