Coffee with Constituents: Rod Dembowski

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski will be holding a Shoreline Coffee with Constituents on Friday, October 11 from 9-10am at Café Aroma, 509 NE 165th St, Shoreline 98155

My District includes Northeast Seattle, Shoreline, and Lake Forest Park. Because of the geographic diversity of the district, it is often difficult for residents to make the trip to my office at the County Courthouse in downtown Seattle. On most Fridays and on weekends, I am inviting constituents to join me for coffee in the district to discuss your concerns, questions, or opinions.  No set agenda. Everyone is welcome.
Rod continues, "If you are unable to join me next Friday, I hope you'll stop by at my next coffee hour. As always, please feel free to contact me anytime at (206) 296-1001 or by email at Rod.Dembowski@KingCounty.gov. You can also find me on Facebook.  I look forward to hearing from you."

Rod Dembowski

516 3rd Avenue, Room 1200
Seattle, WA 98104

Rod Dembowski is mentioned twice in the Naomi Wilson meet-n-greet announcement, yet she is not mentioned at all in his. The same disparity can be found in the Matthews and Webster articles. The Matthews article refers to his opponent as "engineer George Webster," while the Webster article refers only to an anonymous "appointed incumbent." (Matthews is an attorney). Also, both the Matthews and Webster articles mention twice (once in the heading, once in the body) that Matthews is an appointed incumbent. Yet the Naomi announcement says that Dembowski is an appointed incumbent only once (in the body), and Dembowski's doesn't mention it at all.

Then there is the inclusion of deeper background. In the Matthews article, the author points out the history behind the position and his appointment to it. Yet, there is no similar reporting that Dembowski served on the redistricting committee that placed his residence just inside the district boundary, making him eligible for appointment when his friend, Bob Ferguson won election to Attorney General.
