Friday, October 4, 2013

Dashain is the most auspicious time of the year in Nepal. Nepalese around the world celebrate this festival as a symbol of victory of good over evil, family reunion, getting blessings from the elders for prosperity, happiness and good health.

Nepal Seattle Society (NSS), a non profit 501(c)3 organization working to promote Nepalese culture in the state of Washington, has been celebrating the Dashain festival every year since its establishment in 1999. Through the Dashain celebration, NSS aims at creating deeper respect and understanding of Nepalese culture, thereby creating the opportunity to both make new friends, as well as to see familiar faces while the eating tasty Nepalese food, and enjoy exciting cultural performances by local talented artists.

Mohan Gurung, President, NSS, says "On behalf of NSS and myself, I would like to invite you to join us to celebrate Dashain this Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 6:30 - 11pm, at the Shoreline Conference Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. This event is for everyone. Happy Dashai!"
