The park was weeded, watered and pruned. They weeded the Children's Garden and trimmed bushes, trees and cut back brush in the park. They also removed brush and trimmed back hedges from the intersection of NE 179th Street and Brookside Blvd. so that drivers may enter NE 179th more safely.

Dogwood Flower Fountain by Seattle artist Paul Sorey.

Organizer Linda Holman commented,
"This was a wonderful team effort on the part of everyone involved.
"We had the pleasure of welcoming Mark Phillips, who is a candidate for Lake Forest Park city council. This was his first work party and we were happy that he had the time to join us.
"The park is looking wonderful and we invite the community to go by and see it."

Produce from this park is donated to the free Wednesday night meal at POPY's Cafe, a project of the Dale Turner YMCA and the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Animal Acres Park (Pfingst Park) is located at NE 178th and Brookside Blvd in Lake Forest Park.

  1. Correction: the Dogwood Flower Fountain is by Seattle artist Paul Sorey. Rodger Squirrell's metal sculpture is near LFP City Hall at the corner of Ballinger Way & Bothell Way.
