Ballots and voters’ pamphlets have started arriving for the August 6 primary. The King County Elections Department mailed ballots and pamphlets Thursday to voters in Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and the rest of the county.
The ballot includes the County parks levy, and primary elections to narrow the fields for County executive, Metropolitan King County Council member from District 1, one position on the Seattle Port Commission and two positions on the Ronald Wastewater District Board.
Voters who return their voted ballots through the mail must ensure that ballots are postmarked no later than August 6.
Voters may return voted ballot postage free to 24-hour ballot drop box locations at the Lake Forest Park City Hall, the County elections office in Renton, the County elections annex in downtown Seattle, the Ballard Library and eight other sites around the county.
Ballots can be deposited at these locations any time until 8pm on Election Day.
Drop vans will accept ballots Aug. 3, 5 and 6 at the Shoreline/Aurora Square Shopping Center, 15505 Westminster Way NW, and 11 other sites around the county. Voters can use the ballot drop vans from 10am to 5pm Saturday, Aug. 3, and Monday, Aug. 5, and from 10am to 8pm Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Registered voters can use accessible voting equipment designed for voters with disabilities available in the County elections office from 8:30am to 4:30pm weekdays through Aug. 5 and from 8:30am to 8pm Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 6, and at the Bellevue City Hall and Seattle Union Station Monday, Aug. 5, from 10am to 5pm and Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 10am to 8pm.
Voters may drop their voted ballots at any of the accessible voting sites during open hours.
