According to Deputy Christopher Myers, Shoreline Precinct 5, residents of the North Ridge neighborhood in the northeast section of the larger Echo Lake Neighborhood came home at 12:45pm Friday, July 19 to discover a male inside their home, burglarizing it.
The suspect fled the house on foot. During the same time, another citizen at a nearby house also reported interrupting someone attempting to burglarize their home. Officers were told one male ran on foot and his getaway driver sped away.
Shoreline officers were on scene very quickly and established a perimeter to contain the suspect. Officers from both Edmonds PD and Lynnwood PD arrived to assist.
The suspect was found in the neighborhood after a successful K-9 track and was taken into custody.
Investigation found he had broken into a total three homes, with the second and third appearing to be an attempt to hide from responding officers.
Alert citizens and good team work between neighboring agencies led to a successful outcome.
