Personal fireworks are illegal where we live

Please note: personal fireworks are illegal where we live and everywhere else around us:
  • Lake Forest Park ($200 fine)
  • Shoreline
  • Kenmore
  • Mountlake Terrace
  • Edmonds
  • Seattle
And for all you scofflaws who are going to shoot off fireworks anyway, here are some rules:
  • Be Prepared—Have water nearby and put pets indoors
  • Be Safe—Only adults should light fireworks
  • Be Responsible—clean up fireworks debris
Do not call 911 if you hear fireworks. The lines need to be kept clear for the people who blow off their fingers and set their houses on fire!

If you live or find a viewing spot on the Puget Sound side of town, you will be able to see fireworks from both Kingston and Edmonds.

If you live or find a viewing spot on the Lake Washington side, you will be able to see fireworks from Log Boom Park, as well as from private groups in Sheridan Beach and possibly the Civic Club.

"Do not call 911 if you hear fireworks."

In other words, no enforcement.

Global warming? Noise pollution? Litter? Cruelty to animals?

No mention. Not a word.

Why not? Not part of the narrative; that is...not yet.

The boneheads behind my house have shot illegal fireworks into our yard and onto our roof for years. When we reported it to a cop he told us that Shoreline doesn't have enough patrols to enforce the law.

People should grow up. Your "freedom" doesn't call for annoying neighbors and pets with loud noises.

Is that what they call them, 'patrols'?

It is important to report all firework violations to the non emergency number 206-296-3311. Each report goes into the statistics and gets the attention in department reports. Also let the city council know you are not happy with the level of enforcement. Most of the time they just broadcast the call and do not dispatch a car. When you call in tell them you would like to have an officer dispatched. You can request not to be contacted if you choose.

Let the city council you aren't happy with the level of enforcement? The city council doesn't care because the city staff has brainwashed them into believing everything is WONDERFUL in Shoreline, look at the community surveys -- the community thinks the city is doing a great job.

Ask them about the council goal of communication - the city thinks that communication is one-way, like they are part of the Kremlin.

Not to mention that we have a couple of councilmembers who complain about having to deal with constituents or make themselves completely unavailable. Doesn't really matter in the end since they are largely running unopposed for re-election...
