Text and photo, Marc Weinberg
Today started out like other recent summer days, with that morning haze, especially when looking out over the water of Puget Sound. This morning I saw a funny looking ship. Looked like someone had taken a bite out of the middle.
I was curious so I looked it up on my computer on the Marine Traffic website. The name of the ship was the Montford Point and it is what is referred to as a 'heavy lift ship'. I guess that is appropriate and possible since half of the ship is 'missing' and therefor it can carry a large and heavy cargo.

Marine Traffic.com is also available as a smart phone app so you can check and track marine traffic all over the world.
This could turn into a new hobby if I'm not careful.
