The Shoreline Farmers Market Teams up with The Center & JJ Brenner Oysters in Support of autism research
Friday, May 17, 2013
Last summer, The Center for Clinical Research piloted their Marketability Program for young adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Federal Way Farmers Market.
You may have heard the story profiled by KUOW. This summer, the success of the program has allowed The Center to expand to two new farmers’ markets - Shoreline and Issaquah.
The way it works is JJ Brenner Oyster Co. provides fresh, local shellfish including mussels, clams and oysters to the market and works with these young folks, The Center, and a whole host of volunteers ranging from families to community members. All proceeds from sales go to support the Marketability Program and ongoing research and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder by The Center.
Starting June 15th, and every Saturday thereafter, you will be able to visit JJ Brenner Oyster’s booth at the Shoreline Farmers Market, grab some delicious local shellfish for your summer barbecue, and help support an important program and the organization that puts it together.
