Shorewood wins Wesco 3A soccer title with 6-0 victory over Meadowdale

Shorewood wrapped up the Wesco 3A South soccer championship with a 6-0 victory over Meadowdale, Wednesday, May 1, 2013,
The T-birds take an 11-1-1 Wesco 3A record (13-1-1 overall) into its first-round district tournament game against the No. 4 Wesco 3A North team at Shoreline Stadium scheduled for 2pm. Wesco 3A South No. 3 Shorecrest opens tournament play at Wesco 3A North No. 2 Oak Harbor Saturday at 2pm.
Six different players scored for the Thunderbirds. In the 6th minute, Matt Owen headed in a cross from Kevin Price to give Shorewood a 1-0 lead. Next, Danny Han scored off a cross from Sam Jang in the 13th minute. Then Taj McChesney scored at the 20-minute mark on an assist from Danny Han for a 3-0 lead that stood until halftime.
In the second half, Kabir Kahn scored 9 minutes in, unassisted. At minute 63, Colby Hodgen made a goal, then Sam Jang finished the scoring in the 74th minute on an assist by Max Sando.
Shorewood goalies Cal Crawford, Kyle Crawford and Isaac Whitaker shared the shutout.
The Shorewood junior varsity defeated Meadowdale, 1-0, to finish with a 10-0-3 Wesco 3A record (11-1-3 overall).
