Shorewood to play in State 3A soccer quarterfinal Saturday

The Shorecrest and Shorewood boys’ soccer teams both will play in State 3A quarterfinal games Saturday after first-round road victories.

Shorewood takes a 16-2-1 record into a match with Bonney Lake High School at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner at 7 p.m. Saturday after the Thunderbirds defeated Wilson High School of Tacoma 1-0 Wednesday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Taj McChesney scored the game’s only goal. Calvin Crawford was goalie for Shorewood.

Shorecrest takes a 14-4-3 record into a match with Hazen High of Renton at Renton Stadium at 1pm Saturday after the Scots defeated Liberty High School of Issaquah 2-0 Wednesday at Liberty.
