Shoreline Council of Neighborhoods has selected a new logo to represent their new Mission and Values. Council of Neighborhoods is a monthly gathering of leaders representing Shoreline’s fourteen neighborhoods. Each neighborhood group operates independently and leaders come together monthly to share information and resources and to stay informed about what’s going on in Shoreline.

Over the past year, the Council has worked on reviewing and rejuvenating their Mission and Values. To reflect the new energy that has come from that effort, the Council held a logo contest open to the community to replace the old logo. The Council received a broad range of entries from ten local artists. Shoreline resident and graphic designer Janis Trowbridge-Howes created the selected logo.
“The new logo is a wonderful graphic representation of our group” said Council of Neighborhoods Chair Jack Malek. “The Council of Neighborhoods’ Mission is ‘to provide a leadership role to strengthen and connect our diverse neighborhoods’ and our tagline is ‘Building Community.’”
Trowbridge-Howes and her family have lived in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline for almost 25 years and she has worked as a graphic designer for almost 20 years. She is currently a graphic designer for Town / Country Markets, which is the parent company of the local Shoreline Central Market.
As a way of reaching out to their neighbors, this summer the Council will staff a booth once a month at Shoreline Farmer’s Market to let Shoreline residents know about activities in their neighborhoods.
