Shorewood takes 10-0 baseball records into Friday game


The Shorewood baseball team takes a 10-0 overall record (7-0 Western Conference 3A) into a Friday game at Glacier Peak after defeating Glacier Peak Tuesday and Wednesday.

Shorewood and Glacier Peak (6-4, 4-3 Wesco 3A) play the final game of their three-game series at Glacier Peak High School at 4 p.m. Friday, with junior varsity teams from the two schools meeting at the same time at Shorewood's home Meridian Park Fields.

Shorewood won at Glacier Peak 7-0 Tuesday. Winning pitcher Sam Boone had a complete game three-hit shutout. Jake Bockellie and Kory Longaker hit doubles. Josh Wilson hit a home run.

The Thuderbirds then beat the Grizzlies, 7-4, Wednesday.  Cameron Sterne hit two home runs, and teammates Steffen Torgersen went 2 for 4 with two RBI. Winning pitcher Ian Oxnevad improved his record to 2-0.

The Shorewood junior varsity defeated Glacier Peak, 3-2, Tuesday at Meridian Park, and 10-8 Wednesday at Glacier Peak.
