The Shoreline Veterans Association was formed by a group of local veterans shortly before Veterans Day 2010. Its purpose was to recognize, support and demonstrate appreciation to all the men and women who have served our country. Being a veteran means having served in the U. S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or during war time, the Merchant Marine.
The association feels that every citizen owes these veterans, including those currently on active service, a “Thank you for your service” for their sacrifices whether they be great or small.
The association will continue to host the annual November 11th Recognition of Veterans Service as it has for the past three years. Members have also begun preliminary planning of future projects - one of which is finding a suitable location, design, and the necessary financing for the construction of a Veterans Recognition Monument. The association stands ready to consider and promote activities by any organization in the furtherance of its primary goal: Veterans Service Recognition.
Membership is open to all active duty personnel in the armed forces, honorably discharged veterans and citizens that support its goals.
Currently, regular meetings are held the last Monday of each month in room 301 in the Shoreline City Hall at 10am. New members are welcomed. For further information contact Dwight Stevens @206-546-2894 or Frank Moll @206-363-5363.
