Shorecrest High School students Sofia Sanchez and Jane White are among the award winners at the Regional Student Art Show sponsored by the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD).

Sofia’s mixed media entry “All is Full of Love” and Jane’s acrylic entry “Cat’s Cradle” were selected as regional award winners to advance to the 40th annual State Art Show in Olympia on May 17. Regional winners were selected based on overall points in categories of creativity, composition and technique.

These artists receive a plaque in recognition of their achievement.
“My inspiration was my sister's love for cats and the idea that a cat, if left around string, will end up tangled in it. The painting is a combination of the two ideas, putting my sister in the cat's place,” White said.
