Nature to me is a rich perpetual experience, where the whole seems ordered but the details are wild. I want both in my art. For this exhibit, I’ve chosen paintings that celebrate spring and the resurgence of life. I believe we underestimate the wonder of the natural world. Thoughtful observation of nature has the power to heal and invigorate, de-clutter our thoughts and clarify our intentions.

My concerns lie more with the capturing of a feeling of time and place rather than an accurate physical rendering. I take fairly simple subjects and inject them with visual rhythm, gesture and emotional interpretation.

The Gallery also features an array of handmade work by over 90 local artists. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture all of the arts in the community through programs and events, arts education, advocacy, and support for artists and arts organizations. Proceeds from the Gallery at Lake Forest Park Town Center help fund these programs and events.
