The members of Needle and I Night Quilt Guild like to make baby quilts for Children’s Hospital. They try to give 100 quilts each year.
In January they held a special “Sew-In” event to give the project a big kick-start. The ladies brought their fabrics and sewing machines and irons and such and all worked on baby quilts together.
It was a happy, fun, creative, festive atmosphere that they enjoyed. And it was a time of celebration at the March Meeting when 129 quilts were turned in. Wow!
Sue Lopez, the liaison to Children’s Hospital said “When I brought at many quilts to the Hospital they were stunned and then extremely happy! It took two men wheeling them on carts several trips to bring them all in. The children who receive these quilts and their families are so delighted and grateful.”
The Needle and I Quilt Night meets on the second Monday each Month at 7pm at the Shoreline-LFP Senior Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline 98155 (Southern-most end of the Shoreline Center).
