Piano Time 2- Shoreline, a “street piano” painting project
The City of Shoreline is seeking up to five visual artists/artist teams from the greater Puget Sound area to paint pianos for Piano Time 2, the City’s second annual “street piano” project.
This month-long event lights up the landscape with creative designs and a variety of music. The pianos will be donated, then painted or decorated by visual artists, placed in outdoor pedestrian-friendly locations throughout Shoreline and be played by passers-by of all ages and skill levels at other times between August 1st and August 28th.
Upon selection each artist will be matched with an upright piano and location to help suggest a theme. Seven pianos from 2012 will be out and about and up to five additional pianos will get fresh artistic treatments. See the 2012 pianos and complete 2013 Call for Artists here.
Application deadline: May 8, 2013, 5:00pm.
