Tobin Hansen of Kenmore serves as page in state Senate

Tobin Hansen served last week as a page for the Washington State Senate in Olympia.

Hansen was sponsored by Sen. Maralyn Chase, D-Shoreline. “Hanson is a very intelligent young man,” Chase said. “I hope he continues his interest in politics.”

Hansen said he learned of the page program during a field trip in the fourth grade, and becoming a page has been a dream ever since. “It just seemed like they were so involved,” Hansen said. “It seemed like being a page is a good way to learn about government and meet people with similar interests.”

Tobin is a ninth grader at Kenmore Junior High School, and his favorite subject is social studies.
