Shorewood girls win home track meet from Kamiak, hurdler Ransom stars at Terrace Relays going into triangular meet

Megan Ransom helped the Shorewood girls’ track and field team win a home dual-meet over Kamiak Thursday, March 21, and led the Thunderbirds at the Mountlake Terrace Relays meet at Edmonds Stadium Saturday.

In Shorewood’s 71-63 victory over Kamiak, Ransom won the 300-meter hurdles, and placed second in the pole vault and third in both the 800-meter run and 1600 meters. Other Thunderbird winners were Charity Ijiomah in the 200 meters and long jump, Madeline Bell-Knight in the shot and discus, Emma Fillingham in the 100 meters, Christina Garrison in the 400 meters and Alaina Olson in the high Jump.

In the eight-team Mountlake Terrace Relays, Ransom won the 300 hurdles and ran on a winning relay team. Olson finished second in the high jump.

The Shorewood girls’ and boys’ teams meet Marysville Getchell and host Glacier Peak Thursday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Stadium at Snohomish High School.

The Glacier Peak girls lost to Arlington and Lake Stevens last week, while Marysville Getchell finished behind Jackson and ahead of Stanwood.
