Shorecrest Softball team takes 4-1 record into Wednesday home game with Redmond

The Shorecrest softball team got off to a 4-1 record going into a Wednesday home game with Redmond after victories at Lynnwood Monday and at Edmonds-Woodway, Tuesday.

The Scots have been led by strong pitching from Seniors Amanda Hartley, who has a 3-1 record, and Amanda Eshelman (1-0), aggressive hitting and solid defense.

Hartley was the hot hitter in the 9-6 victory over Lynnwood Monday, going two for three, with a home run and three RBI, while Anisa Gomez hit 2 for 4, with two RBI and Eshelman hit 3 for 4 with one RBI. Winning pitcher Eshelman had a complete game.

Other hot hitters include Alissa Kaufhold, who had two doubles against Kamiak, Olivia Nolan, 3 for 4 against Edmonds-Woodway, and Katie Champoux, who hit a single and a double in five at-bats against Edmonds-Woodway.

Before the 9-6 victory over Lynnwood and 13-1 win over Edmonds-Woodway, Shorecrest lost at Cascade, 11-0, Friday, Feb. 15, won a home game from Mariner, 21-3, Thursday, March 14, and won at Kamiak, 12-6 March 12.

Gomez hit 3 for 4 against Mariner.

The Scots follow the Wednesday home game against Redmond with a Friday, Mar. 22 home game against Glacier Peak.
